Following a rigorous University course and the passing of the Notarial Warrant exam, the Notary would be appointed by the President of Malta to exercise their profession within Malta and Gozo. In 2024 Notary Loretta Grech Lateo obtains her Warrant and joins Gozo Notary as a practicing Notary Public. About our practice After graduating from the University of Malta with a Doctor of Laws degree and attaining her Notarial Warrant, Dr. Mizzi and her husband moved to the United States to experience working life abroad. While living in the United States, Dr. Mizzi was employed at two major New York City law firms, Wormser, Kiely, Galef & Jacobs LLP and Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP, where she specialized in the field of U.S. citizenship and immigration law and practiced for over six years. She managed a variety of nonimmigrant visa cases, family-based immigrant visa petitions, employment-based immigrant visa petitions for extraordinary ability individuals, multinational executives and managers, outstanding researchers, professionals and skilled workers. In the course of her practice, she dealt with individual and corporate clients from several sectors of the industry such as law firms, the entertainment community, foreign investors, fashion designers, the restaurant industry, and businesses in the financial, media and journalism, recreation, consumer products, publishing and manufacturing industries. With the birth of her first son, Dr. Mizzi decided that family life was more suited to the quite lifestyle of Gozo, rather than the busy days in New York City. This is where the Notary will see an original document, such as an ID card, Drivers License, Passport, birth certificate, etc, A copy of this original document is then made, and copy of it is stamped and signed by her, confirming that the copy if an exact of the original. A copy cannot be certified as a true copy unless the Notary has compared it to the original. I have a copy of the original document, can you certify it as a True Copy? At the outset of a new transaction we will require some detailed information from all the parties which is either obligatory or deemed necessary for the proper discharge of particular obligations. For an Entity, It is therefore important to: establish who are the qualifying beneficial owners or beneficiaries of the Entity (the qualifying beneficial owners or beneficiaries are those natural persons who, either own or control 25% or more of the shares or voting rights in the Entity or otherwise exercise control over the management of Entity); identify who are the directors or persons who manage the Entity; establish whether any beneficial owner, director or other person who manages or controls the Entity is a Politically Exposed Person. For these reasons the legal representatives or company secretary of the Entity are being requested to complete this form and to provide all documents required in terms hereof. Valid identification documentation (identity card, passport, driving license, etc.) of each one of the persons identified in this form must be provided.
